Purpose of the Blog

Your blogs links will be here, under "Links".






Each week, write on your blog and comment on other students' blogs.


Out of class before each Friday : Write 1 post a week of at least 10 sentences.
-Focus more on communication/fluency rather than perfect grammar.
-You can choose the topic (example topics are below).

Read & comment on your classmates' blogs.
-To check out other blogs, find the links to your classmates' blogs on the right of my page.
-Comment on at least 2 blogs (at least 2 sentences each).

How to make a new post
1. Go to www.blogger.com
2. Sign in with your user name (email address) & password (top right corner)
3. Click on your blog name
4. Click on "Create new post"
5. Type your post
6. Press the "Publish" button (or "Save as Draft" if you are not finished)

How to edit or finish an old post
1. Go to www.blogger.com
2. Sign in with your user name and password (top right corner)
3. Click on "Posts" after the "Manage"
4. Choose the post you need to finish or fix
5. Finish or fix your post
6. Press the "Publish" button

How to edit or finish an old post
1. When you read a post you want to comment on, click on "COMMENTS" below the post
2. If you are not logged in, type your username and password below the box on the right.
3. Type your comment in the box.
4. Click "PUBLISH YOUR COMMENT"

Grading You are graded on participation (not on your English ability).
-Did you write enough (number of posts on your blog, number of sentences per post, two comments other blogs each week)?

-Did you try to have fun, communicate thoughtfully, and improve your English?

-Did you do it on time?



Possible topics What should I write about?

-Read an interesting article http://freewebs.com/prichard/readingjournal.htm and summarize the main ponts (3-4 sentences) and give your opinion (3-4 sentences)

-Choose your own topic, like those below (10-15 sentences).

-Be careful not to write private information about yourself or anyone you know!

What is your most frightening experiencing?
What is your most embarrasing experience?
What was the happiest time of your life? the saddest?
When have you succeeded? failed?
What kinds of injuries have you had?
What regrets do you have in life? What would you do differently if you had a second chance?
Have you changed since you were a high school student?
What is your first memory?
How was you high school life?
Who has influenced your life the most?

FUTURE
What do you want to be doing in 5 / 10 / 25 years?
How many kids, if any, do you want to have? When do you want to get married?
What kind of job do you want?
Where do you want to live? Where would you live if you could live anywhere?
How do you hope to be different?

TOPICS
movies, tv, music, books, food (cooking or eating out), fashion, health, sports (playing and watching), school, clubs, family / relatives, friends, animals/pets, insects, food /cooking, shopping, travelling, the outdoors, computers, chores / housework, health, phobias (fears), role model

(For each topic try to answer what, what kind, where, when, why, with who, how, how much, how often)

ISSUES
the environment, politics, economy, abortion, homelessness, euthanasia, terrorism, etc.
